Already 2 months into the new year and I’m only just now figuring out my word for 2017.
Are you ready for it?
Yup. Preparation.
I have lived in a “fly by the seat of my pants” mentality since my late 20’s. Precisely around the time I started working for myself. One would think you’d have to be super structured and regimented to run your own biz but surprise, surprise – you do not! I have just regularly put one foot in front of the other, taking small steps as the thought flashes through my mind. Scribbling on post it notes has also helped reign in some of the madness.
BUT I have never felt in control or focused enough.
Now that I have a baby, who will soon be eating the foods we eat, I’ve got to do something about this!! I also eat whatever is available with no preparation, so you can imagine that doesn’t go very well either from both an organization standpoint and a diet standpoint. No bueno.
So yesterday, I took control. I batch cooked some homemade baby food using my spiffy new Baby Bullet, created a meal plan for the week, bought the groceries that were written ON AN ACTUAL LIST, made a dozen egg “muffin” thingies to grab and go in the morning, created a bunch of my social media quotes on Snappa so they’re ready to go (if you have never head of Snappa, you MUST check it out!!), and wrote 2 weeks of content for my DIY DESIGNER FB GROUP using Buffer.
Phew. That felt ridiculously amazing!
I’m really hoping I can keep up with this. I feel like a million weights have been lifted.
What do you do to prepare for your everyday life?
