Has there ever been another time in history where the entire world was collectively experiencing a trauma of this magnitude?
I can think back to 9/11 as the most earth-shattering trauma in my lifetime but the world was not unified against one common threat. There was a “bad” guy and a “good” guy.
This event spans the globe. We are all united like never before against one common threat.
And unlike with the Spanish Flu, most of us are connected to one another through
Together apart. All across the globe. Thankfully, technology has allowed us the ability to check in on people next door or halfway across the world.
My hope is we don’t squander what we’ve learned from this experience. Let’s not forget our place in the world as mere mortals living on a vast planet that will survive as it has for millions of years – with or without us.
Humans are not the invincible ones.
We need to do better, live better, love better, work smarter, and take care of one other.
