I’ve been working on redesigning my blog this past week. I put this beautiful, bright springy photo in as a placeholder for a test post fully intending to remove it before going live – but every time I looked at it, it made me happy. What wasn’t making me happy was looking outside.

At the constant snow we’ve been getting.

Since October :/

Because this pic makes me happy, I decided to keep it and write a post about it…

If you know me, it will come as no surprise that I am not a fan of winter. I would even go as far as saying I despise it. I honestly start getting stressed about winter in July. Hahahaha. I’m not even kidding.

I know this might sound crazy but now that I have a son, I am more determined to get out of here for winter. Instead of feeling like I’m stuck here now because I have a child, I am more motivated to move our family somewhere warm and tropical for a few months every winter. Other people have successfully done it, so why can’t I?

My friend Liisa actually wrote a book on how to do this very thing. She lives in Costa Rica with her family during the winter. I’m in the midst of reading it. If you’re ready to flee for winter and want to know how to successfully go about doing it, check out her book.
